| Knight Foundry Corporation and the California Cultural and Historical Endowment (CCHE) |
The California Cultural and Historical Endowment (CCHE) is a State funded
effort to preserve and enhance California's unique cultural and historical

The Knight Foundry Corporation submitted a grant application in
September 2004 for Round 1 and won a $50,000 grant. MORE
The City of Sutter Creek and the Knight Foundry Corporation jointly
developed a Round 2 grant application and submitted it in January 2006.
Alas, this application was not successful. MORE
On March 1st, with the Knight Foundry Corporation actively assisting, the
City of Sutter Creek submitted a Round 3 grant application to the California
Cultural and Historical Endowment (CCHE). This application requested
funds to help cover much of the cost of acquisition, environmental mitigation,
and related renovation projects. In response to the application, on August
23rd, the CCHE board reserved $870,750 in matching funds for Knight
Foundry, a tremendous boost to our fundraising campaign.
The Knight Foundry Corporation is dedicated to securing historic Knight
Foundry in Public Trust ownership, and to renovating and operating this
national treasure.
