The Knight Foundry Fundraising and Capital Campaign Committee did yeoman work in an intensive effort prior to the March 1st, 2007, California Cultural and Historical Endowment (CCHE) Round 3 grant application deadline.
Securing matching resources for this grant was a high priority. Including past resources raised to Save Knight Foundry, we brought in $20,291 in campaign donations and, including past commitments to the Save Knight Foundry campaign, raised $102,315 in pledges. In addition, we identified $263,464 in potential in-kind donations, $100,000 in loans, and $300,000 in potential support from the City of Sutter Creek.
The Capital Campaign can be credited with having a strong influence on the CCHE decision to reserve $870,750 for Knight Foundry on August 23, 2007.
The community really pulled together to make this happen and, under the direction of Chairman Troy Claveran, the Campaign Committee has become a smoothly running fundraising operation.
A Knight Foundry information booth has been built and fielded at several events.
A benefit golf tournament was held.
A lavish dinner/auction was held on October 27, 2007 at the Jackson Rancheria.
